A digression: Why the name?

A change from the CCL learn posts, why is this called “in the garage?”

Well a few months back I had the idea of getting some more experience in the use of Linux. I started to look at what I might use to run it on and took to looking at Trademe. Well to my surprise it was quite possible to pick up a used ex-corporate server for just a few dollars, so now my garage is rapidly turning into Oxford’s first data centre. It now houses a Dell 6450, A Compaq DL380, two ML370s and a ML350, and a Compaq tape library, all picked up for a few dollars, and now running various versions for Linux.

So interspersed with the CCL Learn posts expect to see the odd post about what’s going on in the garage.
